From tourism to agribusiness and scientific research, six projects were selected within the Industrial redevelopment contest launched by Enel.
October 21 was the deadline for submitting project proposals within the sale and redevelopment process for the Rossano plant. The Futur-e initiative for the Enel plant in the province of Cosenza was well received as a tangible opportunity to enhance the area through innovative and sustainable solutions.
There were six proposals, ranging from the promotion of tourism to high-level facilities for scientific research and local agribusiness enhancement. In addition, research centres, university departments and innovation hubs.
The model based on a participatory and innovative approach has effectively stimulated potential interest in the redevelopment project, within the Futur-e vision, which promotes the search for new sustainable solutions to guarantee local development and the creation of shared value for the areas that are involved. This achievement is even more important considering that not only Italian businesses, but also international ones are participating.
This week the assessment of the project proposals begins, with the support of a Selection Committee composed of representatives of local institutions, the University of Cosenza, Milan Polytechnic and Enel.
The assessment of the submitted project proposals should be completed by December 2016.
