On 30 September, the first phase of the proceedings launched for the two plant sites involved in the project Futur-e came to an end.
16 expressions of interest were presented that meet the requirements of the proceedings: 8 for each site, at the end of a journey that has seen a widespread effort with involvement and dialogue with the business community and the area’s public administration.
Montalto di Castro: Territory and Innovation
For Montalto di Castro, the eight expressions of interest come from important business entities and professionals of a certain level that see in the site a point of departure for projects of international scope, and that imagine a new future for the 200-hectare area facing the Tyrrhenian Sea.
Various areas of transformation emerge from the projects proposed in the first phase. They share a common denominator: the conservation and reuse of the existing structures with a new look, that goes beyond energy production and designs a future aimed at innovative and sustainable projects to enhance the area and its resources.
The deadline for submitting project proposals together with a Binding Economic Offer is 3 February 2017. Counterparty analysis is currently in progress, with reference to all the interested parties. Visits to the site enable proposers to further investigate the potential and resources of the area of Montalto di Castro.
Porto Tolle, a Future Ready for Business
For the plant in the province of Rovigo, too, 8 expressions of interest were submitted, with the aim of using the site and the 235 hectares of the area to develop activities connected to the Po Delta territory or to propose new development opportunities.
Counterparty analysis had been started for the Porto Tolle proceedings as well, with all interested parties, and visits to the site are already underway. The deadline for submitting project proposals together with a Binding Economic Offer is 3 February 2017.
