Enel, in reiterating the company’s absence of any involvement in this issue, points out that there are no additional charges on current electricity bills, nor those due in the coming months. Furthermore, on the subject of this issue, the Regulatory Authority for Energy Networks and the Environment (ARERA) has intervened directly, issuing a press release to clarify that the purpose of the measure is exclusively to recover the system charges due to the lack of payment by some selling companies and not from other clients that are in arrears. The relative impact on the final consumers’ electricity bill has yet to be quantified by ARERA, but in any case the Authority has specified that it will be an extremely limited change (around 2% of the system charges and certainly not €35).
