Santiago, 8 May 2009 - Enel Green Power, through its subsidiary Enel Latin America (Chile) Limitada, has signed a project development agreement with SoWiTec Energias Renovables de Chile Ltda, an affiliate of the German developer SoWiTec international GmbH, to develop several wind power projects in Chile for a total capacity of up to 850 MW.
Through this agreement Enel will have exclusive access to several wind power projects being developed by SoWiTec, as well as the right to acquire these projects once they are fully authorised. The projects have a preliminary capacity ranging between 60 to 150 MW and are located in the northern electrical system (SING) and central electrical system (SIC) of Chile, in areas presenting good wind potential.
Thanks to this agreement, Enel will further increase its presence in the promising Chilean renewable energy market characterized by an interesting wind potential to be exploited in the coming years.
