The energy group is the top utility on the global list and first among Italian companies
Rome, October 20th, 2017 – Enel has been included in the top 20 of Forbes World's Best Employers List 2017, first among utilities at the global level and highest-rated among Italian companies. Every year Forbes puts together the above list, which ranks the 500 best employers in the world, based on a survey of 36,000 global opinion leaders.
During the ranking process of the World's Best Employers List 2017, employees from the companies involved were asked to assess their own employer, by answering questions about whether they would recommend applying for a job with them to a friend, among other things.
“We are extremely pleased about Enel’s ranking in the Forbes World’s Best Employers List,” said Enel CEO and General Manager Francesco Starace. “This acknowledgement is testament to the major work we are carrying out to empower and motivate those who work in our Group and to attract the best talents required to tackle the challenges posed by energy transition.”
Enel provides employees access to a range of tools to help them establish a good work-life balance: flexible hours, “banking” of working hours, part-time options and smart working. Enel has also launched a large number of staff appreciation programmes. One example is the Open Innovability® platform. Here the company seeks out innovative solutions for the business that help it open up both to the world of start-ups and innovation and to colleagues keen to put forward new ideas and business solutions. Another initiative is the “My Best Failures” programme, launched as an opportunity for colleagues to share their mistakes and failures with each other, turning them into opportunities to help everyone improve. The University of Berkeley in California and Harvard University looked at Enel’s innovation and sustainability model in two case studies over the course of the last year.
The values and the open model promoted by Enel among its employees are in line with some of the 17 sustainable development goals of the UN’s Agenda 2030, such as: health and well-being, quality education and gender equality. The Group’s commitment to diversity was also recognised by Thomson Reuters, which, in November 2016, ranked Enel 25th in its list of the top 100 international companies promoting diversity and inclusion.
