The hundredth edition of the Giro d'Italia will cover 3,572.2 kilometres along 21 legs, with an average of 170.1 km per leg. The longest will be the 12th one, Forlì-Reggio Emilia, 237 kilometers, while the longest Giro took place in 1954, 4337 km. The route of all the 100 editions of the Tour would add up to a total 353,146 kilometres: the equivalent of nearly nine times the entire circumference of the earth, or 91.8 percent of the distance between the Moon and us. At this rate, it will cover the Earth-Moon distance in 2026.
