Event to be held tomorrow at the Enel Point in via Broletto in Milan in honour of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. Speech by the Group’s President Patrizia Grieco during the event.

The value of diversity, starting from gender, is one of the central issues for which the Enel Group has long been carrying out initiatives to raise awareness among its 68 thousand-plus employees around the world, as well as in the social contexts in which it is present.

The company has therefore renewed its annual commitment to the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, established by the General Assembly of the United Nations in December 1999, designating November 25 as the date of the anniversary.

To celebrate this international day, the company has promoted an event-debate to be held tomorrow, 25 November, at 6:00 p.m. at the Enel Point in via Broletto in Milan, renewing our commitment to an issue that unfortunately continues to be of deep concern to this day.

The meeting “Violence against women is the worst form of ignorance” will by attended by Enel President Patrizia Grieco, who will discuss many unresolved issues, along with Alessandra Kustermann, Head of Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Relief at the IRCCS Ca’ Granda Maggiore Polytechnic of Milan Hospital Foundation; Donatella Galloni (psychosocial coordinator Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Relief at the IRCCS Ca’ Granda Maggiore Polytechnic of Milan Hospital Foundation), Lorenzo Puglisi, founder of SOS Stalking and lawyer Giulia Bongiorno (former President of the Chamber of Deputies’ Justice Committee) and Founder of Doppia Difesa.

Respecting human dignity, the protection of diversity and the rejection of any form of violence are in fact some of the Enel Group’s core values. The company has long been committed to promoting projects to prevent and counter violence against women. Such a commitment requires a profound change and constant attention to the issue. The non-profit organisation Enel Cuore Onlus, led by its President Grieco, carries out numerous projects in this field.
