Communication and innovation in the days of digital natives. The 2017 edition of the IAB Forum, the most important event in Italy on digital advertising, of which Enel is a diamond sponsor, is dedicated to the theme “Born Digital.”  Scheduled on 29 and 30 November, in Milan, the Forum is organized every year by Interactive Advertising Bureau Italia, the Italian branch of the world’s leading association in the field of digital advertising and the national representative of the entire interactive communication market.

The speakers have been called to confront each other on two topics: how the world of digital advertising is evolving and what are the most original international experiences in relation to the so-called post-millennial generation. It is an increasingly influential generation in business and society and it is accustomed to considering technology as an obvious part of everyday life: hence the need to understand how it is still possible to come up with innovative projects and products for them, through groundbreaking ideas.

Our Director of Communication, Ryan O’Keeffe, invited on stage by the creative director of this year’s IAB Forum, Marco Montemagno, will speak on behalf of our Group on Wednesday, 29 November. His speech is titled “Communication and Digitalisation: 5 Lessons Learned.

Visitors can relax or work comfortably in the Enel branded relax area and enjoy an Open Power experience with Elen, the chatbot, which will entertain users,

challenging one’s knowledge on the trends of the digital world.

Many contributions will allow you to explore the opportunities of digital technology, through workshops, inspirational moments and live virtual reality or artificial intelligence demos. Jeff Kofman, CEO and Co-Founder of Trint, will talk about the transformations brought by AI to audio-video, while Matteo Arpe, the creator and founder of Tinaba, will look into the new frontiers of the Blockchain. There is also space for the role of digital technology in politics with Alexander Nix, CEO of Cambridge Analytica, the company that played a key role in Donald Trump’s victory in the US presidential elections, and with Julian Assange, the co-founder of the WikiLeaks information website, connected via live video from the embassy of Ecuador in London. The Forum will also be attended by personalities from the world of entertainment, including Italian singer and web star Fabio Rovazzi, who has won a gold record by promoting his songs via streaming alone, Italian actor Luca Argentero, who has just launched the video content startup MyVisto, and Italian actor and TV host Paolo Kessisoglu.

The “Born Digital” theme will be further expanded with the discussion of IAB Italia’s survey on the perceptions of digital natives; a second survey, in collaboration with Ernst & Young, will show the value of digital technology in Italy from an economic and institutional point of view. It is a decisive asset for Enel, which in the 2018-2020 Strategic Plan has planned new investments of 5.3 billion euros in digitalisation. View the event programme here.
