In line with our business model, we extend a sustainable approach to all our collaborations with the companies that work with us. In our relationships with our partners, we foster synergies to maximize productive, social, environmental and financial benefits, guided by the principles of the circular economy, combining innovation and sustainability in order to make progress towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) outlined in the 2030 Agenda.

Our Procurement Team is always on the lookout for cutting-edge models, methods and technologies that can make us increasingly competitive on the market and enable us to offer our customers the very best services. This approach translates into a variety of innovative projects that aim to boost sustainability across the entire value chain

The Procurement Awards 2021

Our commitment to an ever more sustainable supply chain was acknowledged at the 6th edition of the Procurement Awards, presented by the specialized company The Procurement on October 7 at the Triennale di Milano. These awards are considered the most important in this sector.

Attending the event for the third time, our Group took to the podium five times, winning awards for each of the four finalist projects as well as the Purchasing People special award.

First prize in the Interfunctional Team Procurement category went to our project “The Automatic Update of the Baseline Tender”, launched in 2020 with the goal of optimizing procurement processes, making them increasingly efficient through standardization.

Second prize in the Developing Expertise category was awarded to our “Procurement Planning & Workload” project, an integrated digital platform that makes it possible to stimulate buyers’ professional growth, track the evolution of their skills and improve the distribution of workloads.

In the Innovation in Purchasing category, second prize went to our “DURC massivo” project, which enables the automated acquisition of Documenti Unici di Regolarità Contributiva (DURC - single insurance contribution payment certificates) through a direct connection between our corporate platforms and the national social security system, the first project in Italy to completely digitalize this process.

Finally, our “Electronic Catalogue Purchasing Platform featuring a Marketplace Interface” won third place in the same category, also winning the Purchasing People special award as it received the most votes from companies taking part in the Procurement Awards. This is an innovative platform that enables users (typically those situated in power plants) to purchase components through a special IT interface, a procedure that simplifies processes and also helps reduce stock held in storerooms.

Teamwork

These new awards, which join those we’ve won in previous years, are the result of a strategy that is strongly focused on innovation and sustainability as well as the day-to-day work of our colleagues, who put it into practice. “We work every day using an interfunctional approach, prioritizing sustainability, developing new expertise and innovation – the foundations of our value chain,” commented Francesca Di Carlo, Head of Global Procurement, speaking for the whole team in expressing their satisfaction.
