ENEL: ENEL GREENPOWER, CONPHOEBUS AND ASSOPETROLI TOGETHER FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF RENEWABLE ENERGY

Rome, July 31, 2002 - Enel GreenPower and Conphoebus, the Enel Group companies dedicated to the development of Renewable Energy Sources, have signed a Protocol of Understanding with Assopetroli, the industrial association that represents about 1,000 companies which supply energy services and products. The aim of the protocol is to promote the use of Renewable Energy Sources and Energy Saving both in the plants belonging to Assopetroli, as well as its Clients. In particular, a number of joint projects are being defined. These include: „h Bio-climatization operations, rationalization and energy saving, and the integration of Renewable Energy, for the supply of innovative services at roadside gas stations and at minor distribution points; „h Creation of parking sites for the exchange and re-charging of electric vehicles equipped with Renewable Energy systems; „h Implementation of general interventions for the supply of Renewable Energy for use in the energy systems in tourist towns and villages; „h Interventions for the installation of Renewable Energy at tourist ports; „h Interventions of solarization and for the integration of Renewable Energy in temperature controlled hothouses. Assopetroli, always sensitive to enviornmental issues, chose Enel GreenPower and Conphoebus as its qualified partners, to propose a model of sustainable development based on renewable energy.
