ENEL: ENEL REAL ESTATE ACQUIRES MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC'S STAKE IN CONPHOEBUS TECHNOLOGY SERVICE

Rome, July 17, 2002 – Enel Real Estate has acquired from Mitsubishi Electric, for about 200,000 euro, its participation in Conphoebus Technology Service (CTS), a 50-50 joint venture constituted in 2000 which is active in the planning, installation and maintenance of large air-conditioning systems. Enel Real Estate and Mitsubishi Electric will continue to collaborate, however, only on a commercial basis. Enel Real Estate, through its subsidiary CTS, and thanks to experience acquired in the air-conditioning sector, will increase its offer of services to the real estate market, and Mitsubishi Electric, in collaboration with CTS, will be able to increase its offer of services in the air-conditioning market.
