ITALY S GRID OPERATOR (GRTN) WARNS THAT INTERRUPTION TO POWER SUPPLY MAY BE NECESSARY TOMORROW, JULY 23

– Italy’s national grid operator, the Gestore della Rete di Trasmissione Nazionale (GRTN), has informed Enel that "because of recent news that some production resources may not be available and forecasts of high electricity demand" it should prepare, in a precautionary manner, to implement planned, level 1, power interruptions from 9:00AM to 6:00PM tomorrow, July 23, 2003.

The GRTN will inform distributors of the need to implement the plan 30 minutes before each interruption period, beginning from 9:00AM.
