ENEL: FULVIO CONTI EXERCISES THE 2002 PLAN STOCK OPTIONS

Rome, 16 November 2007 – Enel informs that Chief Executive Officer Fulvio Conti exercised today options to purchase 336,000 Enel’s shares granted him in the past (in his former position as Enel’s Chief Financial Officer) under the 2002 stock option Plan. This has entailed the subscription of a corresponding number of newly-issued Enel’s shares at a price of 6.426 Euro each, 262,477 of which were sold concurrently on the market at a price of  8.2179 Euro per share.

Mr. Conti’s decision to exercise the stock options is in accordance with the policy he announced in the press release of 12 April 2006, in which it was indicated that he would refrain, until his current mandate had expired, from exercising the options granted him under different Enel’s stock option plans. This confirms his complete confidence in the successful management of the Enel Group and therefore in a good performance of the Enel stock. In the same press release it was also specified that, before his current mandate had expired, Mr. Conti would only exercise the 2002 Plan stock options since their final expiry date is 29 November 2007.
