FULVIO CONTI ELECTED VICE PRESIDENT OF EURELECTRIC

The association representing the electricity industry at the European level has elected its new leadership.

Rome, 17 June 2008 – The annual conference of Eurelectric, meeting in Barcelona, has unanimously elected Fulvio Conti, CEO and General Manager of Enel, as Vice President of the association, which represents the European electricity industry.

The conference elected Lars Josefsson, Chairman and CEO of Sweden’s Vattenfall, as President to succeed Rafael Miranda, CEO of Endesa in Spain.

The new leadership team of Eurelectric emphasised its willingness to co-operate with legislators, regulatory authorities and all other stakeholders to ensure compatibility between the development of an increasingly secure and competitive electricity market and the fight against climate change.

The Coordination Committee of Eurelectric was strengthened with the entry of Jean-Pierre Hansen, CEO of Belgium’s Electrabel, and Philippe Huet, member of the Board of Directors of the French utility Edf.
