For the fifth year running, the Enel Group sustainability report has scored a maximum A+ from the Global Reporting Initiative.
By joining the G4, Enel will also make a contribution to drawing up the GRI guidelines for the next generation, G4.

Rome, July 12th, 2011 – Enel’s Sustainability Report has scored a maximum A+ grade on the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) scale. For the fifth year running, this score acknowledges and rewards Enel’s commitment to corporate social responsibility, in the application of the GRI guidelines. GRI is one of the most highly accredited standards for economic, environmental and social sustainability, taken up by the world’s leading companies.

In order to draw up the Sustainability Report required to achieve a GRI rating, Enel has been following since 2006 the GRI-G3 guidelines made up by a network of thousands of experts.

Enel’s Sustainability report includes the EUSS (Electric Utilities Sector Supplement) sector indicators, allowing to tailor the reporting process to the features of the power sector.

Last June, Enel also become a member of the group of companies offering their support to GRI as the organisation puts together the next generation, G4, guidelines for sustainability reporting. Together with Enel, the support group includes Alcoa, General Electric, Goldman Sachs, Natura and Shell. GRI will also be able to call on the expertise of Deloitte, Ernst & Young, KPMG and PwC. The G4 guidelines are scheduled for completion in 2013.
