ENEL GREEN POWER: WORK BEGINS ON THE "BAGNORE 4" GEOTHERMAL POWER PLANT IN TUSCANY

With a total installed capacity of 40 MW, the new plant will be able to generate up to 310 million kWh per year
The total investment for the construction of Bagnore 4 is expected to amount to, approximately, 120 million euros

Rome, March 18th, 2013 – Enel Green Power has broken ground for the construction of the Bagnore 4 geothermal power plant, located in the municipalities of Santa Fiora and Arcidosso, in the province of Grosseto (Tuscany).

The project calls for the construction of two 20 MW turbines, for a total installed capacity of 40 MW. Once completed, the plant will be able to generate up to 310 million kWh of electricity per year, thereby saving 70,000 TOE (tonnes of oil equivalent).

The new plant, designed to perfectly fit into the surrounding environment, will join the 20 MW “Bagnore 3” plant. The construction of Bagnore 4 will require a total investment of, approximately, 120 million euros.

The Bagnore 4 power plant was engineered to meet top international standards as well as utilizing the best technologies available to preserve the environment. A sophisticated, remote monitoring and diagnostics system will be installed at the plant to ensure that it operates at the highest level of reliability and efficiency.
