ENEL GREEN POWER: FIRST TWO PHOTOVOLTAIC PLANTS IN OPERATION IN ROMANIA

The total installed capacity of the new plants amounts to 19 MW. The operating facilities will be able to generate up to an approx. 29 million kWh per year

Rome, July 15th, 2013 – Enel Green Power (EGP) has connected to the network its first photovoltaic plants in Romania. The two plants, Berceni 1 and Berceni 2, are located in Prahova county and have a combined installed capacity of around 19 MW. The operating plants will be able to generate up to an approximate 29 million kWh per year.

The Berceni 1 plant has an installed capacity of around 10 MW. The operating facility is able to produce around 15 million kWh per year, corresponding to the annual energy needs of more than 7,500 households, thereby avoiding the emission of over 6,800 tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere per year.

The Berceni 2 plant has an installed capacity of around 9 MW. The operating facility is able to produce more than 14 million kWh per year, corresponding to the energy needs of more than 6,500 households, thereby avoiding the emission of over 6,500 tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere per year.

Berceni 1 and Berceni 2 are the first photovoltaic plants of Enel Green Power in Romania, a Country in which the Enel Group company has an installed capacity of 498 MW from wind power.
