ENEL GREEN POWER: NEW PHOTOVOLTAIC PLANT ENTERS SERVICE IN ROMANIA

The Podari plant, which has entered service shortly after the Colibasi photovoltaic park came on line, has a total installed capacity of 10 MW and will be able to generate about 12 million KWh a year
As a result, EGP’s total installed solar capacity in the country increases to about 36 MW

Rome, November 25th, 2013 – Enel Green Power has connected to the grid its fourth photovoltaic plant in Romania. The Podari plant is located in Dolj county, in south-western Romania, and its entry into service comes just a few weeks after the start-up of the Colibasi plant.

With a total installed capacity of 10 MW, the new, operating facility will be able to generate up to about 12 million kWh of power each year, equal to the annual consumption of approximately 10 thousand Romanian households.

The clean energy produced by the Podari plant will help avoid the emission of around 6 thousand tonnes of CO2 in the atmosphere each year.

Podari is EGP’s fourth photovoltaic plant in Romania – after Berceni 1, Berceni 2 and Colibasi – and the start of its operations brings the installed solar capacity of the Enel Group’s renewables specialist to approximately 36 MW.

Enel Green Power also has about 498 MW of wind power in operation in the country.

Enel Green Power is the Enel Group company fully dedicated to the development and management of renewable energy sources at the international level, with operations in Europe and the Americas. The company generated more than 25 billion kWh in 2012 from water, sun, wind and the Earth’s heat - enough to meet the energy needs of approx. 10 million households and avoid the emission of over 18 million tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere. Enel Green Power is a world leader in the sector thanks to its well-balanced generation mix, providing generation volumes well over the sector average. The company has an installed capacity of approximately 8,700 MW from a mix of sources including wind, solar, hydroelectric, geothermal, and biomass.
