Partnership agreed with Aton Storage for renewable energy storage solutions for residential customers
Rome, February 7th, 2017 – Enel’s range of services for the storage of electricity generated from renewable resources is expanding. After finalising agreements in recent months with Tesla, BYD and LG Chem, Enel has expanded its collaborative efforts to include Aton Storage, one of the first Italian companies active in the development and manufacture of innovative storage systems featuring modularity and scalability, as well as performance and Italian design.
Enel thus continues its partnership activities with the world’s leading manufacturers of home storage systems, with the aim of expanding its product portfolio and fostering competition among market players. For some time now, the Group has been forging global partnership agreements with the most respected and competitive manufacturers on the market.
“Thanks to our agreement with Aton we can enrich and strengthen the range of products offered to end users with innovative, high performance solutions that contribute to energy efficiency,” said Ernesto Ciorra, Enel’s Head of Innovation and Sustainability. “Storage solutions play a key role in the development of renewable energy and electric mobility, sectors in which Enel is a world leader.”
Ettore Uguzzoni, CEO of Aton Storage, said: “We are greatly honoured to partner with Enel and contribute the experience of our engineers and our distinctive capacity for technological innovation. We will strive to make the best contribution to the development and deployment of storage systems, which we believe will bring significant benefits to both families and the environment.”
The battery developed by Aton was included among the new technologies that Enel presented during the Formula E event held in Marrakech on November 12th, 2016, and the Capital Markets Day in London on November 22nd. Enel has also incorporated the Aton storage system in its commercial offering of photovoltaic panels combined with energy storage systems, which will launch shortly.
