Renault Trucks Italia and Enel X work together to boost electric mobility in Italy

  • The two companies have signed an agreement to accelerate the development of electric mobility in the country

Rome, July 12th, 2021 - Enabling heavy goods vehicles in Italy to switch to electric mobility. Renault Trucks is ready to offer a full range of electric vehicles ranging from 3.5 to 27 tons and to accompany its customers in their transition to sustainable zero-emission mobility with 360° assistance. This is possible thanks to the partnership signed with Enel X, Enel's global business line offering services to accelerate innovation and drive the energy transition, for the development of a series of solutions dedicated to electric mobility: from vehicle recharging infrastructure, to the supporting web platform for managing and monitoring the recharging points installed in company car parks, from management programmes for company fleets of electric vehicles to the training of qualified personnel, right up to JuicePass, the App that enables you to manage your electric vehicle recharging wherever you are, in cities, on urban and suburban roads and in numerous strategic points (supermarkets, car parks and shopping centres), thanks to recharging infrastructure located throughout Italy and Europe.

The collaboration with Renault Trucks is an important step that demonstrates how electric power can cover all mobility needs, both in urban and out-of-town areas”, said Augusto Raggi, Head of Enel X Italia. "From today, Renault Trucks' vehicles will be able to count on our charging solutions, which contribute to the electrification process of the entire sector. Enel X's goal is to enable everyone to drive an electric vehicle comfortably and safely thanks to an infrastructure network that meets all needs. To do this, we are continuing to install recharging points throughout the country and develop the best technologies for domestic recharging, a constant commitment to the rapid spread of electric mobility throughout the country".

“This is a historic moment”, said Pierre Sirolli, CEO of Renault Trucks Italia. “We are witnessing the transition from diesel and petrol engines to electric mobility. At Renault Trucks, we have been experimenting with innovative solutions for years and have invested a lot in this sector. Today we can proudly say that we are ready for zero-emission mobility by offering a range of vehicles, from light commercial, such as the electric Renault Trucks Master, to medium-heavy trucks such as the electric D&D Wide, 16 and 27 ton. We offer pre-equipped vehicles for urban cleaning missions, distribution vehicles and urban construction vehicles. Today's agreement with Enel X covers the joint development of infrastructure to help customers. The transition to electric mobility is complex and it is not enough to manufacture vehicles. It is also necessary to accompany the customer in terms of consultancy for staff training, and the choice and management of the most suitable recharging facilities.

For customers who choose to purchase electric light and heavy commercial vehicles, Renault Truck will offer solutions integrated with Enel X charging technologies: Juice Pack Basic, Juice Pack Medium, Juice Pack Pro and Juice Pack Premium. Depending on the chosen pack, you have access to services such as the use of the JuiceNet Manager platform for monitoring the charging infrastructure in the private sector, as well as the purchase, installation and maintenance of different types of products depending on your needs: the JuiceBox, a home charging infrastructure, the 22+22 kW JuicePole and the JuicePump with up to 50 kW.
