The Internet of Things, How to Accelerate Development

{{item.title}}

The Internet of Things (IoT) is one of the processes that will revolutionise our daily lives. However, to accelerate its large-scale deployment, the obstacles that are holding back development – and which aren’t only of a technological or economic nature – must be eliminated as soon as possible.

To discuss the issue, Agici Finanza d’Impresa – a research company and consulting firm specialised in utilities, renewables, infrastructure and energy efficiency – organised the seminar “The Internet of Things for public utility infrastructures. How can we accelerate development?” to be held tomorrow at the Lazzati dell'Ambrosianeum Hall in Milan.

The event will include an analysis and a series of debates on IoT technology, regulatory conditions, the role of Telco companies and the views of the Public Administration. Gianluigi Fioriti, Head of Infrastructure and Networks Italy, will speak on behalf of Enel at a panel discussion on Solutions and Successful Experiences, which will include speeches by Gianluca Marini (CESI), Paolo Quaini (Edison), Stefano Latini (Trenitalia), Marcello Bondesan (Hera), and  Giancarlo Attili (Terna).

Digitisation is the focus of Enel’s 2017-2019 Strategic Plan, which was presented to analysts in London last week by CEO Francesco Starace and the directors of the Global Business Lines. Over the next three years, the power company plans to invest 4.7 billion Euros worldwide to digitise its networks and production assets.
