Ceramics, photography, computer technology and gastronomy. Thanks to Enel Cuore Onlus, a social farm in Bracciano opens new spaces and broadens its horizons.
The beneficiaries will be the more than 30 guests of the multi-purpose day centre of the AAIS, the Association for Assistance and Social Inclusion, established in 1981 with the objective of integrating the disabled adults living in the municipality of Bracciano and in the neighbouring municipalities of Trevignano, Anguillara, Canale Monterano, and Manziana.
Until a year ago, the activities of the day centre were held elsewhere in Bracciano. Then, in September 2016, thanks to the fundamental support of Enel Cuore - the charity organisation of our Group that is engaged in supporting the third sector in the implementation of social projects - the association was able to move to the “Sabrina Casaccia” social farm in Castel Giuliano.
The new premises, inaugurated on 15 September, will host a ceramics workshop and a multimedia workshop for computer technology and photography, fully equipped with instruments that facilitate learning. The enlargement of the space dedicated to the kitchen has already made it possible to hold cooking lessons and provide the canteen service one day a week.
That means no longer just beekeeping and social agriculture. The new areas and new services will allow residents to broaden their interests and the facility to match the psychotherapeutic, pedagogical and educational recovery of disabled people with activities that can also serve as a means for self-financing.
A one-of-a-kind project in the local area: a training and inclusion model through contact with nature and the environment which is bound to become a point of reference for social inclusion and interaction thanks to the active participation of volunteers and the local community. Without forgetting Enel Cuore Onlus, of course.
