  • The Program was launched in July 2020 and is now open to over 6,000 suppliers in Italy, who can benefit from financial and advisory services, as well as managerial and technical training from selected partners

Rome, November 11th, 2021 – Enel opens the “Supplier Development Program” to over 6,000 companies in Italy. Launched in 2020, the Program supports its suppliers' growth paths and helps the Group meet its strategic objectives. Enel is therefore contributing to the development of the supply chain and supplier competitiveness in line with its objectives and values. There is a particular focus on sustainability, circularity and digitalization. Suppliers play a crucial role in achieving the energy transition objectives, which is why Enel is increasingly focusing on their development.

“The great energy transition challenge inevitably involves our suppliers, without them it would be impossible to reach our decarbonization objectives by increasing renewable energy, network digitalization and the electrification of consumption,” said Alda Paola Baldi, Head of Procurement at Enel Italia. “By expanding our Supplier Development Program, we want to help more of the companies that work with us to achieve sustainable growth, while increasing their competitiveness and efficiency. This will also create value for the communities that they operate in and contribute to the country's economic recovery, in line with the Recovery plan approved by the European Union.”

The Program is open to companies, with headquarters or a branch in Italy, that are qualified or at an advanced stage of qualification in Enel's supplier registers and have a production value of up to 250 million euros. Special attention is given to SMEs operating in strategic sectors, that could benefit from direct support from Enel for access to certain services.

The Program offers an ecosystem of opportunities to make the supply chain more resilient, efficient and innovative; opportunities that encourage financial and managerial growth for the participating companies, contribute to improved cost efficiency, greater emphasis on innovation, sustainability, internationalization and digitalization, as well as the expansion of activities to other areas. Companies participating in the Program will have access to a range of services, with conditions that are more favorable than those usually offered by the partners that Enel has signed collaboration agreements with.

Participation in the Program is free of charge and Enel will help companies identify the paths that are best suited to their growth objectives. The Program rules and regulations are available at https://globalprocurement.enel.com/
