E-cars: driving pleasure

It’s hard to look at an e-car without falling in love with it. Before I started I had all the usual prejudices – I thought the car of the future would be technically complex, hard to drive and not very reliable. Instead, the driving experience is very straightforward, much more enjoyable than with a traditional car. The comfort, lack of noise, acceleration and the ability to drive anywhere create an experience that’s more fun than you’ve ever had before.  

Driving an e-vehicle is a genuinely new experience, especially in the city, where you can park for free even in parking bays where charges normally apply, drive during traffic bans and enter restricted traffic areas in historic town centres. Not to mention noise pollution, like the constant exhaust pipe roar and rumble that we’re forced to live with every day, with e-cars such issues do not arise. All in all, the city seems to be the natural habitat of the e-car – silent, fun and ecological.  

Ecological because the other great benefit is linked to the environment – driving around with the knowledge that you are not polluting makes the experience even more pleasurable. E-vehicles improve air quality and help reduce the impact on people’s health, especially in the city.  
E-cars also consume much less energy than internal combustion engine vehicles because they are three times more efficient.  
Finally, before my test drive I had assumed that e-cars lacked range. I was wrong: one charge enabled me to complete a whole week’s trips to and from the office and these days the charging stations are much easier to find. 
Comfort, flexibility and savings: now I’ve tried e-cars, I’ll never go back.
