Thanks to the passion and support from Enel, the main sponsor, from 22 June to 12 July Milanesiana 2017 is set to transform the Lombardy regional capital into a top venue for leading international artists, who will be bringing their music, literature, cinema, philosophy, theatre and figurative art.

The 18th edition of the cultural festival conceived by Elisabetta Sgarbi will be dedicated this year to the themes of Paura e coraggio(Fear and Courage). 55 events are scheduled, with more than 140 guests from 19 different countries and initiatives taking place also in venues outside of the city of Milan: from Palace of Venaria in Turin, Florence’s Palazzo Medici Riccardi, the Il Maggiore theatre in Verbania and Piazza del Kuerc in Bormio. During the festival five exhibitions will also be taking place.

Enel and the other sponsors are sending a strong signal in a year in which public institutions have had to scale down their own economic contributions, while still acknowledging at the press conference the undoubted value of the festival as a laboratory for ideas and trends.

On 26 June, the Enel site in Via Broletto in Milan will host a concert for the piano and voice of Antonio Ballista and Lora Windsor and an illustrated presentation by Luigi Serafini: the event, called Effetto Codex, will centre around sustainability, energy and environmental issues. Renewable sources and intelligent networks are, in fact, key resources for the smart cities of the future, where new technologies will be tasked with simplifying our daily lives, enabling us to better express our creative qualities.

Also for this reason Enel has been a private perpetual founder of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome and the La Scala Theatre in Milan since 2003, both cultural institutions of international renown. Culture is energy and culture is innovation.
